Packing Options

For many homes, packing costs about as much as the move itself, so it is worth deciding early. These are the options Midtown offers.

Included on every move

Furniture blanket-wrapped and shrink-wrapped, mattresses bagged if you buy bags, floors and doorways protected. You box everything else.

Full packing

The crew boxes the whole home: kitchen, closets, books, decor and fragile items.

Cost

Packing is priced on top of the move itself: the crew's packing time plus the materials used. These ranges come from Midtown's past local moves.

Midtown recommends buying your own boxes if you can. Supplies from the crew cost more because the company buys, stores and hauls them.

FAQ

How much does it cost to have movers pack?
For a local move, packing labor typically runs $500 to $1,000 for a studio or 1 bedroom up to $1,800 to $2,400 for 4 bedrooms, plus materials. Your quote combines the move and the packing.
Should I buy my own boxes?
Midtown recommends it. Crew supplies cost more because they are bought, stored and hauled by the company. If you would rather the crew bring them, each item is priced on the pricing page.
Is furniture wrapping extra?
No. Blanket-wrapping and shrink-wrapping furniture is part of every move. Packing covers what goes in boxes.
